It's Lythan’s turn to set the challenge this week over at the Daring Cardmakers.
“Well, this weeks dare is a little bit retro. As it is the European Day of Languages today I would like your card to feature a foreign language.
This takes me back to one of the very first Daring Cardmaker Dares (November 10 2006 to be precise) which was a similar challenge. So why not also see if you have any cards to show from 5 years ago to see if your style has changed? “
I knew straight away I was going to put something Spanish on my card as it’s the only other language I can speak a bit of. I lived in Spain for a couple of years and that’s where I met Andy, so I decided I’d use the challenge to make a card for him. (Unfortunately, he’s not daft and will probably suss me out when I give him this and ask if it was for a challenge!)
The lovely image is a digital stamp from Pink Petticoat and the gorgeous polka dot papers are also from PP. I printed the text from the PC and it says Happy Christmas to my boyfriend. I just hope he thinks it’s romantic that I’ve put it in Spanish rather than realise it was to fit in with a DCM dare!
Lythan also challenged us to find a card from 5 years ago. This was one of the very first cards to appear on my blog – and scarily, those were digital papers that I still use fairly regularly. I know my style has changed quite a bit really but I don’t think you’d think so looking at this card – I’m probably not quite so heavy handed with the distress ink as this nowadays though!

Fab card Sharon, that image is really sweet and a perfect combo with the polka dot backgrounds. :D
