Tippy Toes

Here’s an easel card I made using one of the latest digi stamps from Scrapbook Stamp Society.  I coloured her with Promarkers then used a combination of papers from Pink Petticoat and Echo Park Victoria Gardens collection.  I painted a chipboard flower and leaf with Jenni Bowlin paints, then added some white glitter, a button and some dark green bakers twine. 

What’s on your workdesk Wednesday

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.  We had a quiet Christmas at home this year, just the two of us, which was just as well because Andy was poorly for most of it.  He seems to have picked up a bit of a bug and he barely managed to eat his Christmas dinner which is most unlike him!  Luckily we had a great night out on Friday night before he got poorly and we’ve got plans for a big New Year weekend so I think the rest will have done us both good.  Andy bought me the most gorgeous Mulberry handbag for Christmas to match the purse he bought me for my 40th so I am a very lucky girl!  We’ve got a couple of nice things to look forward to too – I bought Andy tickets to go and see Noah and the Whale, and my brother bought us tickets to see Bombay Bicycle Club.

I also managed to spend some time with my family and watching Georgie, Lola, Ella and Toby opening their presents was brilliant.  I don’t think Toby really understood what was going on, but they all had a great day.  Georgie and Lola both got lots of craft goodies so I think they’ll both be taking over from me shortly!

I thought I’d join in with this weeks WOYWW because I’ve had a bit of a re-organisation of my craft area.  I had a bigger desk on the other side of the room with my sizzix on, but I decided to swap the desks so I work on the bigger one, and I’ve put the other one in an L-shape so I have everything within reach.  At the moment I’ve got my laptops on the other desk as I’m working from home, but I’ll have my Sizzix Big Shot on there normally.  As you can see, I’m part way through making an easel card using a new Scrapbook Stamp Society digi stamp, and I have a few new stamps to put away (I have a lot of new stash but I can’t tell you about that yet!).  You can also see a lovely new Cath Kidston notebook which was a present from my little sis (she also bought me a ton of Cath Kidston stuff as she knows I love it).  I’m thinking I might use this book to write down all the Daring Cardmaker challenges for the year.

I made this Christmas card using the snowflake digi stamp.  I’ve coloured the image with Promarkers, and added some glamour dust for extra sparkle.  The backing paper is from Pink Petticoat and I’ve added a lovely Martha Stewart punch snowflake to tie in with the snowflake theme.

Here’s another project using a gorgeous image from Scrapbook Stamp Society.  I coloured her with Promarkers then spritzed some seam binding with glimmer mist in a similar colour to her trousers.  The little tag is from Papertrey.  There’s a fabulous Christmas challenge going on over at the Scrapbook Stamp Society challenge blog so pop over and join in.  I shall be back later with a Christmassy something to join in with the fun!

DCM - Spots and Stripes

It's Keilly's turn to set the last challenge of the year over at the Daring Cardmakers this week, and she's chosen Spots and Stripes.  I decided to do both spots and stripes on my card, and went for a Pink Petticoat polkadot background, then a stripey Cuttlebug embossing folder which I swiped with white ink to make the stripes stand out a bit more.  The stamps are all Papertrey and I've embossed the stamping with Sea Mist embossing powder so it's a lovely pearly finish (which doesn't photograph too well unfortunately). The little gems are swarovski crystals so are also really sparkly irl.

WOYWW

Well as I’ve actually been at home during daylight hours today I thought I’d take a picture of my desk and join in with WOYWW this week.  As you can see I took the picture while I was making the books for my nieces.  I’ve got my little colour chart to hand – I’m delighted now I’ve got all the promarker colours, just a few of the greys to get and my set is complete.

Christmas gifts

I’ve finished the two notebooks for my little nieces – you wouldn’t believe how nuts they go for notebooks!  They are just so sweet, they sit in bed at night both scribbling away in their books.  Their mum keeps all the old books in a trunk so when they’re older it will be lovely for them to look back and read all their little secrets and stories.

This is Lola’s book, the image is another digi image from Scrapbook Stamp Society.  I’ve coloured her with Promarkers and given her blonde hair and blue eyes like Lola’s!

And this is Georgie’s book finished.  I cut the lettering for their names with my Cricut (had to wipe off an inch of dust to get to it – I don’t think I’ve used it for about a year!).  I then added some stickles to the lettering to give a bit of sparkle.  I’d like to say I picked this image for Georgie because she’s so angelic, but that would be a bit of a fib, hahaha!

DCM - Nordic

It's Fran’s turn to set the challenge over at the Daring Cardmakers this week and she’s picked a brilliant theme – Nordic!

Taking inspiration from the photo above, we'd like you to create cards / projects with a Nordic Theme this week - think knitted jumpers, reindeer and lots of red and white!

Well I was very excited about this theme, I can tell you, and I knew straight away that I was going to use my lovely tree stamp from Crafty Individuals – I always stamp and emboss this image with white embossing powder and it just goes so well with a bit of kraft and red, ideal for this theme – especially as it also has a little reindeer.  I went through my stash and realised I didn’t have quite the right paper, so a quick internet search and I found these on Etsy.  The shop is called Moo and Puppy, and they have lots of lovely digi papers as well as these:

Aren’t they gorgeous?

I think the rest of the design team have enjoyed this theme as much as I have, because there are some outstanding cards on the blog – pop across and have a look, you’re sure to be inspired!

First of the Christmas gifts

Now the cards are all done, I’m trying to find time to make a few gifts.  I made this lovely notebook last night using one of the digi images from Scrapbook Stamp Society.  My nieces just love notebooks and they use them up just as quickly as I make them!   I know Georgie is going to love this image.

I made the flowers using some Crate paper double sided paper, and the chipboard leaf is from Tando.

DCM – December Flowers

As it's the first dare of the month over at the Daring Cardmakers, we have our "Flowers of the Month" challenge this week - but of course December's flowers brings the series to an end - we do hope you've enjoyed and felt inspired by the theme. Next year we're starting a whole new Monthly Challenge Theme - so watch out for that at the start of January!

Like most of the team, I went for Holly.  A good excuse to get another Christmas card done!

You can’t tell too well from the photo, but the circle is covered in lovely crunchy white glitter and is lovely and sparkly.
