18th Birthday boy

My nephew is going to be 18 in a few weeks time so I thought I’d better start on his card as I knew it might take some time – oh how I hate doing boy cards – especially teenage boy cards, that’s doubly hard :)

I thought I’d go for a bit of a grungy style:

The background is stamped using the free Star stamp that came with Craft Stamper magazine a couple of months ago, then I flicked some watered down white acrylic paint onto it to grunge it up a bit.  The label dies are both from Papertrey and I put the greeting in a painted grungeboard bookplate which I then added a bit of gold metallic rub-on to highlight the texture.

My next job is to make a 40th card for another man – oh dear…….
