I'm so happy to have been asked by Spellbinders to join their Spellbloggers team. I've been using a Platinum die cutting machine for over a year now, and it's changed my life, so I was over the moon when they contacted me.
I'm going to be sharing with you lots of inspiration using their fabulous dies and stamps and so that it's easy for you to keep up with my projects, I've decided to do a Spellbinder blog post every Monday.
For this first post I decided to make two cards using the same stamp set, so you could see two different ideas for it.
The stamp and die set I used is the Designer Series Flower Bouquet set by Donna Salazar.
I coloured the stamped image with alcohol markers, then added some Kuretake Wink of Stella brush marker over the top to give them some lovely shimmer. The background was created by die cutting the Card Creator Untamed Scrolls, Rebel Rose die which I cut from kraft card and placed onto a white card base. So that the greeting would stand out, I added a strip of white card across the bottom then cut the Shapeabilities, Simply Said, Phrase Set One die set from black card.
For my second card I went for a brighter colour scheme and used Prima metallic watercolours to colour my stamped image.
The background was created by running some Aqua white core card through my Platinum using the Donna Salazar Bubble Wrap embossing folder (I just love folder, it's definitely one of my favourites). Once embossed I rubbed a sanding block over the card to highlight the raised areas (you need to have card with a white or coloured core for this to work). I finished off by stamping a greeting onto black card and adding a few pearls.
I hope you'll join me each week from now on when I'll be sharing tons of Spellbinders inspiration!
