Oh I'm loving this Rebel Skull Banner from the Rebel Rose Range by Stacey Caron at Spellbinders. It's just perfect for teenager cards. I have two teenage nieces and one of them just really isn't into girly images, so I shall definitely be using this card for her birthday. You also get a really cool crown die in the set too.
For this card I decided I wanted a grungy feel, but I wanted it to be quite bright and cheerful at the same time, so I decided to add a nice teal background using Peacock Feathers Distress ink. I then added some paint splatters using black watercolour paint and some Peacock Feather Distress Stain. The sentiment is from a really old Fancy Pants rub on set I found in my drawer, I've had it forever so not sure if you can still get hold of it, but there are definitely plenty of stamps and rub ons that have the same kind of grungy feel to suit this type of card.
I die cut the Rebel Skull die from both black and white card, then I trimmed out the skulls from the white card and layered them on top. I used a Sakura gel pen in a black sparkle to colour in the eyes and nose on the skull, then I added Wink of Stella brush pen over the whole skull.
