TGIF - Acetate

This weeks challenge on Thank God it's Friday is to use an acetate in your piece.  I made this ATC featuring a gothic window (Paperartsy) on acetate over my favourite angel stamp, which has been coloured with Twinkling H20s, Ecoline and some irridescent medium, together with a touch of stickles glitter on her wings.  You can't see the shimmer in this photo unfortunately which is a shame:

4x4 Floral

This weeks challenge on 4x4 Friday is florals, so here's my entry:

The background is a damask stamp from Graphicus, stamped with Frayed Burlap distress ink.  the main image is a Crafty Individuals Stamp, then I've edged the piece with copper Krylon pen.

Now, you may think it's a bit early, but I'm thinking about what design to use for my Christmas cards this year!  I plan to do so much teaching this summer (more news on that shortly), and I have a big commission coming up for some summer party invitations, so I'm thinking that maybe I should make a start on my cards soon so I can do them gradually over the rest of the year.  I went to the Stamp Bug yesterday and got this stamp, which I think lends itself to bright colours.  Maybe it's because I'm doing this on a sunny day, but I think I'd quite like to have something a bit different this year - what do you think?

   

DCM - Distressing

This week's challenge on Daring Cardmakers is 'Most Distressing'.  I made this card using distress inks.  The background is a cuttlebug embossing folder which I rubbed with Vintage Photo distress ink.  The stamp is Paperartsy, and is stamped with Peeled Paint and Vintage photo.

Wednesday Stamper - Insects

The challenge on Wednesday Stamper this week is Insects.  As I had to make some more Stampbord samples for my crafting weekends in Spain, I decided to incorporate some butterflies and dragonfly into my samples to fit this challenge:

 

My doll and me, and stripes

This week's Gothic Arch challenge is My doll and me, and the challenge over on Theme Thursday is stripes, so I decided to incorporate them both into this arch:

Wednesday Stamper - Alter me

This week on Wednesday Stamper the challenge was to use this image in your piece.  The background is ecoline inks, then I used a cuttlebug embossing folder and distress ink to give a bit of texture.  The little girl is 'Betsy' by BLine stamps, and the edge is embossed with copper tinsel embossing powder.

Make a Moo or two

This is the first time I have made moos.  I don't know why, but I just don't like making small things much.  I don't like ATCs, moo's or inchies really.  I think my ideal size is 4x4 or gothic arches.  I just find that they're the perfect size for a nice image and lots of embellishments.  When I make cards I only make A5 size, very rarely anything smaller. Anyway, I managed to combine two challenges here, Make a moo or two (this weeks is Spring, last weeks was numbers so this covers both of those), plus the theme over on Theme Thursday is to make something miniature, so I can get back to my comfort zone and make something a bit bigger lol. 

WS - First letter, first name

This weeks challenge over at Wednesday Stamper is to create something featuring the first initial of your first name, here's my entry.  The stamps are all from Crafty Individuals, and you can't quite see from this photo, but the S is lovely and glittery, and the background embossing is pearl bronze:
