I've put together some initial class descriptions for the weekends. As I've had a few enquiries already, I am looking at running a further weekend on the 18th - 21st May. I'm planning to have the April weekend for beginner/intermediate level and the May weekend for crafters that already know the basics. Here are the lesson descriptions (although as each weekend will be small groups, we do have the flexibility to cover other ideas too).
Embossing with Lasting Impressions Stencils (all levels)
In this class we will make some beautiful cards using the Lasting Impressions range of brass stencils. I will show you how to dry emboss, and then we will explore other techniques to make your cards that bit different, including sanding and scratching, ageing, vellums, colouring and layering. Even if you’ve used dry embossing before, you’re bound to pick up some useful tips and ideas from this class.
Ranger Ink Techniques (Intermediate/Advanced)
Chances are that even if you’ve dabbled with alcohol inks, you haven’t explored their full potential. In this class we will decorate some tags, learning some useful techniques for creating backgrounds and altered projects.
Altered Project (Intermediate/Advanced)
In this class we will be creating a beautiful mirror frame, using twinkling h20’s, stamping and embossing and perhaps some glitter and sequins. This is a class to let your imagination run wild and create a lovely project for your home.
Cardmaking Techniques (Beginner)
This class is for newcomers to cardmaking and will cover the basics – equipment needed, types of card and sizes, how to make your own card blanks, stamping, heat embossing, dry embossing, using embellishments, card design basics, using rub ons, and various other techniques. This is an essential class to get you started if you’re new to cardmaking.
Stamping techniques (Intermediate/Advanced)
If you know how to stamp and heat emboss, then this class will explore other stamping techniques, such as resist techniques, creating collages, masking, brayering and using twinkling h20’s.
Sizzix birthday cards (all levels)
In this class we’re going to make some extremely useful birthday cards, using some gorgeous papers, sizzix die cuts, H20’s, glitter glue and pearl ex fabric paint. These cards are ideal for those tricky people – men and children!
Luminarte Brilliant Baubles (all levels)
I know it’s a bit early, but in this class we’ll be creating some gorgeous Christmas baubles – although you don’t have to wait for Christmas, they would make lovely decorations to use in your home at any time.
Baby Scrapbooking (all levels)
In this class I’ll give you some great ideas for creating lovely pages for a baby album, using a wide range of techniques and products.
Girlie cards (Intermediate/Advanced)
This is a fast paced class where we’ll try and fit in as many cards as possible from my huge selection of girlie inspired samples. We’ll cover many techniques and use a wide range of products including; Cranberry Card glitzy babe stencils, lasting impressions stencils, heat embossing, stamping, rub-ons, and many more.
Weddings
This class is for anyone considering earning some extra income by designing and making wedding stationery. We’ll cover lots of ideas, not just for invites but for table plans and place cards, and the practicality of producing beautiful stationery in large quantities.
