Gothic Arch - Autumn

The challenge a couple of weeks ago was Autumn, and I didn't get around to doing an arch at the time, but as it's one of my favourite themes, I thought I'd still have a go.

Sorry the photos not too good, the light wasn't great.  The background is a leaf stamp, stamped with distress inks (fired brick and spiced marmalade).  The image and stamping have been highlighted with Twinkling H20s, I then added some beading on copper wire all around the edge, which seemed like a good idea at the time, but took hours lol!

Gothic Arch - Gold. Reina Isabella

Here's my entry for this weeks Gothic Arch Challenge.  The theme was gold, which got me thinking along the lines of Kings/Queens, then last night I watched a really interesting programme about Al Andalus, and the Moors in Spain, so that inspired me to search out a picture of Reina Isabella, the Catholic Queen who was responsible for reclaiming Spain.  What I found most interesting was that instead of destroying the Muslim architecture, she kept a lot of it, and is even buried alongside her husband in a chapel with inscribings from the Koran around the outside - quite interesting for a Catholic queen who made everyone convert to Catholisism or leave the country!
