We always start the first Friday of the month with a particular type of challenge each year. Last year we chose a colour combo palette each month. This year we are going with an inspiration photo. You can take inspiration from the photo in many ways – you can go with the colour scheme, the elements in the picture, or with a picture like this one chosen by Kathy, you could use the layout as a sketch.
I really liked the warm colour scheme so that was my starting point, then since stitching is one of my favourite things I decided to also pick up on that, and the hearts for my card.
The heart die is from the ‘Bundle of Stitched Shapes’ die set from Simon Says Stamp. I cut them from white card then coloured them with Promarkers to get the exact colour scheme I was after. The stitched lines on the kraft card are created using a die from Paper Smooches – they have a lovely set called ‘dots and dashes’ which features 4 different options, and the greeting stamp is also from Paper Smooches.
Don’t forget to pop over to the Daring Cardmakers blog to see how the rest of the team have taken inspiration from the photo.
I like your clean take on the theme! The colours are beautiful and work wonderfully with the craft backing. And I'm afraid I'm going to need some of these stitchy dies, too...

The stitched hearts are very cute! It's nice that you let them be the colourful focal point of your card.
