Lythan has chosen a really fun challenge for us this week, she wants to see cards inspired by fellow DT member Nat!
Now this is quite an easy one for me, because Nat and I have quite similar taste in supplies, and we often buy the same things. There are lots of things that I think are typical of her style. She likes Chevrons a lot, she often uses grey and peach, she’s great at using stickers and card/chipboard elements, and she has a really good eye for combining patterns and colours.
I had a look through my paper supply to see what struck me as being ‘typically Nat’, and although I was aiming for greys, these papers from The Pier collection seemed to me to be the sort of thing Nat would go for. I had some really old Crate paper 12x12 packs with sheets of elements so picked a couple of those to contrast with the papers, then I decided to add a vellum wrap for the text as I’ve seen Nat do this a few times (I must admit it’s one of my favourite ways to use vellum too because it means the adhesive doesn’t show).
Sorry the picture is a little dull, the light really wasn’t that great. The flowers are a lovely turquoise green in real life. I’ve added glossy accents to them to make them look a bit more like stickers.
Hope you can join in with us this week, and don’t forget to visit the Daring Cardmakers blog to see what everyone else has come up with.
Oh yes, we definitely tend to buy the same things! :D I'm so glad to see The Pier paper pad getting an outing on this fabulous card! :D
I was desperate for the 12x12 pad and managed to get it in TK Maxx but have hardly made any progress into using it up - definitely need to get it out again.
And you are rocking my favourite look of the moment, those circle apertures with stitched detail around the outside. :)
And the vellum - of course - another favourite look for avoiding the troubles of trying to attach the blessed stuff without any traces of adhesive!
Niiice!
