DCM – The Great Daring Card makers Bake Off

It’s Dawn’s turn to choose the challenge at the Daring Cardmakers today, and she’s chosen a baking theme for us.

I recently received a Simon Says stamp set full of lovely doughnut (or donut) stamps and greetings, and I thought that would make a change from my usual cupcake cards.

I thought the greeting for this one is hilarious – even if I do now have the song stuck in my head.  I stamped the doughnut twice, once on kraft card with white embossing powder, then on white card with Memento ink so I could colour in the icing part with Promarkers and cut it out to layer on top.  The lovely background paper is left over from a previous dare when Leo gave us some lovely Quirky kits goodies to play with.  With the round doughnut on a round circle I really needed something going on in the background to make it less about circles!
