I put together this quick card using my new Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours as I wanted to see how well they would work on vellum – I find some watercolours look a bit wishy, washy on vellum, but these are lovely and vibrant as I hoped they would be. I wanted the overall effect to be rich to go with the vibrant colours, so I heat embossed the flower image with gold embossing powder before painting on the watercolours. The stamp set I’ve used is a fairly old Papertrey one called Doodlie Do. I stuck down the flowers with large glue dots as the vellum does curl up quite a bit with the water. Since the colours are quite opaque and highly pigmented, you can’t see through the vellum so glue dots worked perfectly.
