I'm back with a couple more of the lovely new Pretty Quick dies from CraftStash.
The design of these dies makes them absolutely ideal for creating shaker style cards. For this card, I kept the front simple, just die cutting the die from some Mocha cardstock, then I attached a sheet of acetate before adding foam tape all around the central heart shape so that I could add some iridescent pink flower sequins.
For my second card I wanted to really highlight the elements of the image, so I coloured the leaves and flowers with Promarkers, before adding some pearls to the flower centres.
For my first card with the Happy Birthday die, I used an ink blended background to highlight the design. I blended some distress inks onto white card, then added splashes of water to create a distressed look. I then simply cut the die from white cardstock to add on top. It's a nice quick and simple card, but the colours behind really highlight the design.
For this card I trimmed the die cut to use the tree separately from the border. I cut the whole image from brown card, then trimmed away the border and some of the leaves. Then I separately cut the leaves and hearts from green and red card so that I could layer them on top. I used a grass border die to add some grass to the bottom of the card to finish of the scene. This is also a fairly quick card to make, but I think it's really sweet. I think the tree image could be used for so many different cards, and could be combined with stamping and other greetings.
I really like this Pretty Quick range - the designs are really versatile and give so many options beyond simply die cutting them and using them as they are. I'm looking forward to using these to make cards with my 6 year old nephew as he loves die cutting and these would be easy enough for him to use without much help.
