Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Floral stamp set - June card kit

I really love the stamp set in the June Simon Says Stamp card kit.   The dahlia style flower is really beautiful and I think I'm going to use that particular image along with the leaves a lot.

I made two cards using that same stamp and leaves, both cards are a similar colour scheme, but the techniques I used are quite different on each.

For this first card, I used the new Whimsical Woodgrain background stamp from My Favorite Things to create a background, then I stamped the flower and leaves several times on vellum using WOW Rich Pale Gold embossing powder.  I then coloured the images from behind using my Gansai Tambi watercolours.  I added a sentiment on a strip of vellum then a scattering of sequins.

For my second card, I stamped the flowers onto white card and then coloured them with Promarkers.  To give a bit of interest to the background, I die cut a circle using the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched circle stackables die set from a lovely pearlescent vellum, then I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers for a bit of shimmer.
