Something a little different from me today! I was sent a copy of The Kids' Book of Paper Love by the publishing company, so I gave it to my niece and nephew and asked for their opinion (since I think their opinion is more valuable than mine in this instance!).
They are both quite keen crafters, and I think that's the main reason they enjoyed this book. The book is full of beautiful papers, tags, things to colour and things to make, with few instructions. Toby liked the projects and things to make, whereas Ella liked the pretty elements that you can take out of the book and use on other things (such as the stickers and little journaling cards).
The age range suggested is 7-14. Toby is 10 and Ella is 13, but I think the mix of different things in this book makes it appealing to quite a wide age group (and it has a real contemporary feel), but I think that unless your children already enjoy crafting, they might be a bit lost by the lack of instructions. For my two, the lack of instructions was actually what appealed to them.
There's a lot in this book - it's certainly not something they would use for 5 minutes and get bored with, there are so many different things, it's something they'll use for some time.
