CraftStash - Nesting Snowman stamp and die set

There's a fabulous new range of Christmas dies and stamps from CraftStash.  I've put together a video tutorial with a couple of ideas using the Nesting Snowman stamp and die set.  My first card shows how to put together a snowman, then for my second card I use one of the snowball outline stamps to create a wreath - just to show an idea of how to stretch the stamp set for other ideas.   Of course if you added flowers to the wreath instead of baubles you could use this all year round.

Tonic Studios magazine kit

There's a fabulous box magazine kit from Tonic in the shops at the moment, and I was lucky enough to create some cards for the magazine.  You get a fantastic selection of supplies in the kit - dies, stamps, embossing folder and papers.   The die set creates a gorgeous Jewel Pocket bag, but my cards show some different ways to use the elements other than to create the bag:

Butterfly kisses

A quick and cheerful card today using the same technique I've used on a few cards recently, of adding an ink blended background behind white die cuts.

This time I used the Butterfly 1&2 dies from Apple Blossom and glued them onto some distress ink backgrounds using Dusty Concord, Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron.   The background is an embossing folder from Creative Expressions called Sweet Cherries - it's one of my favourite folders of all time.   

Mother's Day cards

I'm loving this Apple Blossom Dahlia die set and I thought it would be perfect  for my Mother's day cards.

I ink blended some of my favourite colours onto white card, then die cut the flower from white card before glueing it onto the ink blended piece with Ranger Multi Medium matte then cutting out.   It's really effective I think.  You could do the same thing with coloured card, but I find using ink gives me more colour choice.

I went through my dies to see what other dies I had that would work well with the same technique and came across this lovely Floral Border die (also from Apple Blossom.   For both cards I created a sentiment strip using the Avery Elle 'Simply Said, Happy' stamp set, which I heat embossed with WOW Bright White embossing powder.

Mother's Day card

In an attempt to get ahead of myself a little, I've made a start with my Mother's Day cards.

This card uses a lovely die set called Circular Foliage from Apple Blossom - and you know I have a bit of a thing for wreath dies and stamps, so I couldn't resist buying this set.   I kept it simple and just cut it from green, with two shades of pink for the flowers.  The text is from a freebie stamp set that came with Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine, and I added some drops of Tonic Nuvo Crystal drops just to finish off the flowers.

DCM - Geometric

It's Leo's turn to set the challenge this week at the Daring Cardmakers, and she wants to see geometric patterns on our cards - but they have to be created - not on patterned papers.

I dug out an old Simon Says Stamp stamp set that has this lovey little triangle design and decided to create a rainbow pattern on my card (because any excuse to incorporate a rainbow can only be a good thing, right?)  

I made life easy for myself in lining the stamp up by using my MISTI, and it literally only took me a few minutes to create my pattern.

Bromsgrove card class 11 February

Here's a few more cards that we'll be making in my February class.   I've put together a few sketches to work from because I thought it would be a handy thing to have for everyone to take home.  Every now and then I like to use sketches because I find it freshens up my card layouts a bit and stops me doing the same kind of design all the time.

Another masculine card.  These 3 cards couldn't be more different in theme and colours, but you might notice they are all based on the same card layout/sketch.

A few more cards for my November classes.

I really love this Woodland scene - it's another of the new dies from Pretty Quick dies at www.craftstash.co.uk.   

I recently bought these Torn Edge square dies from Tattered Lace when they were on sale at Create and Craft - I bought squares, circles and rectangles and I really like the effect.  The bauble die is an old one, i think actually it might have been a magazine gift and I used a stamp from the Apple Blossom Merry & Bright stamp set for the greeting.

Even though it's now a few years old, the Papertrey Snow Globe stamp sets is still one of my favourites.   The greeting on this card is from a new set from Woodware, and I just love the design.
