Sizzix Zoo Friends, Bold Blossoms and Modern Foliage

Another very cute set - I decided to make the tiger a cat so I could make a little gift back for my niece Georgie, who loves cats.

This little elephant from the set is just perfect for new baby cards and projects:

The Bold Blossom die is one of my favourite.  I used some of the new Sizzix foam to create bright 3D flowers for this frame.

The foliage in the background is the Modern Foliage die, which I also used for this rustic style card

Sizzix Ocean Friends, Fruit Shapes and Tropical Stems

I really love this Tropical Stem die, it's a real classic design.

Finally for today - Ocean Friends.  This is VERY cute.   I think I'm going to use this set for all my new baby cards - and because it's a bigz die, it would be great for making home decor for a nursery.

Sizzix Bigz shows on Wednesday 29 April

We are back at Create and Craft this Wednesday with some fabulous Bigz dies.  This is the Layered Butterfly die, and I've but it from some cardboard here, to give it real dimension.   To create all the layers, I've added Distress Oxide sprays, stamping and some of the new Distress embossing glazes, together with a bit of gold embossing around the edges.

Next is a notebook for my niece using the butterfly and the Bigz Lollipop Alphabet.

It doesn't show too well in the photo, but the alpha is cut from some of the Charcoal Opulent yardstick, which has a lovely brushed metal look to it.

Next is the Detailed Tropic stamp and die set.  There are some really nice tropical leaves in this set - and a wreath, so it's already one of my favourites because you know how much I love a wreath!

I also made myself a little notebook, using the wreath and tropical leaves together with a chipboard 'S' cut with the Lollipop Bigz die.

Crafty shopping

While I've been at home these past few weeks I've been updating my blog a bit, and I've added links in the sidebar to my favourite craft shops (disclaimer: these are affiliate links).  I generally add links at the end of my blog posts for the products I've used, but if you want a quick link to those shops, you can now use the links on the right hand side of my blog.  

I'm in the UK, but as I know my followers are fairly equally split between the UK and the US, I've tried to offer links to stores in both countries for my most used supplies.

I personally buy most of my supplies from either CraftStash or Simon Says Stamp.  I really like Simon Says Stamp own brand products, so it's worth the shipping cost and the wait for me, and I tend to place an order with them every other month on average.  I often also get their monthly stamp kit.

For me, wherever I'm ordering from, the thing I want most is a store that has a big choice.  If I'm going to be paying shipping, then I want to get as many supplies in one order as I can.  CraftStash, SSS and Scrapbook.com all stock products from a wide range of companies, and from my personal experience, they have good customer service.  That's why I've chosen these companies for my links.

The other link is for Create & Craft.  As you know, I am a guest presenter for Sizzix on Create & Craft, so I've added a link to their site because if you're interested in products I'm demonstrating on a show, and you're in the UK, then you might want to check their site.  Craftstash also stock Sizzix, and generally get all the latest dies from a release, so you might want to look at their site too (and they always have really good prices).

Hope these links will make life easier when you want to get hold of whatever products I'm sharing with you.

I'm just putting together a list of my most used products and tools, as I thought that would be a helpful thing to share, so pop back in a day or two for that one :)

A couple of spring floral cards

I had to make a few birthday cards this week, and the sunny weather inspired me to grab some floral dies.

First up, is a card for my friend who celebrated her 50th birthday.

Since I can't actually see her at the moment, I felt safe to add this cheeky sentiment!

The second card is a bit more vibrant, I used some strips of double sided tape to add some gold foiling in the background then used the Sizzix Bold Florals die set to create some striking flowers.
