I've got a new video on my Youtube channel showing a couple of ways to use regular dies for foiling.
I bought the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil system, but since I don't have many of the foiling plates/dies to use in it, I was keen to use some of my other dies.
When using regular dies with the foiling systems, you don't get a dramatic effect - the part that foils is the cutting area of the die, so this is usually a thin outline rather than a bold line, but even so, you can create some really nice backgrounds with this method.
As well as using my foiling system, I also used one of my mixed media dies as a stencil to use the DecoFoil Transfer gel - this is a really cost effective way to get a hot foil effect as you just need a cheap laminating machine.
